“One of my favorite aspects of grape growing and winemaking is how the vines and the wines mark time, year to year, season to season. It is always so much fun to open a bottle of some seemingly “normal” vintage and have it delight you or a special vintage that really wows. I recently opened a bottle of the 2017 Jemma, and it was immediate gratification. I think it is the most forward and accessible of the three wines this year, right now, and is delicious straight away.”

“The flagship 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon The Estate is a terrific value, even at its $175 dollar price point. Loaded with notions of ripe black fruits, lead pencil shavings, graphite, and incense, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, building tannins, terrific balance, and a great, great finish. It shows the more reserved, focused style of the vintage and is going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 20+.”

“The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Jemma is bold, juicy and inviting, with terrific interplay of fruit and fresh aromatics. Chocolate, new leather and savory notes develop in the glass adding layers of complexity. This boisterous, expressive Cabernet has so much to offer. It really hits the sweet spot today.”
