The Ellman brothers are interviewed by Christine at South Florida Food and Wine to share their thoughts and experiences as vintners, and their new release of Ellman Family Vineyards wines.

2009 Ellman Family Vineyards Pinot Noir Amanda Russian River
Amber Ridge Vineyard Fruit only 50 cases produced Fresh cherry pie like fruit on the nose fresh and clean with raspberry fruit on the nose typical Russian River Pinot Noir bouquet.  A nice amount of zesty acidity to freshen things up on the palate candied cherry and raspberry like fruit and a nice amount of floral notes on the finish. 
Finish 35+ Very Good +   

2009 Ellman Family Vineyards Pinot Noir Alexis Skye Sonoma
A very exotic bouquet of spices and Black cherry liqueur like fruit on the nose fresh flowers and fresh sweet herbs, nice complexity here on the nose.  Nice freshness and a good amount of red berry fruit this wine needs bit of time still a bit of a shy flower but good concentration and depth of fruit. 
Finish 40+ Excellent       

2008 Ellman Family Vineyards B.B. Napa Red Wine
60% Cabernet 40% Merlot Georges 3 and the Merlot is Lake Cynthia red currant and plum like fruit on the nose some fresh herbs and fresh earth nuance milk chocolate spice.  Fresh and bright red currant and plum like fruit on the palate with smooth tannins and a nice amount of spice on the finish a well balanced effort that should improve with some more time in the bottle. 
Finish 40+ Excellent          

2008 Ellman Family Vineyards Jemma Napa
Georges 3 primarily 95% Cabernet 5% Merlot.  A bit more complexity here on the nose with toasty oak spice and vanilla and notes of dark coco and new leather.  A lot of juicy fruit on the tongue with more power and complexity showing on the finish with a nice hand of toasty oak spice and firm tannins and dark coco spice. 
Finish 45+ Excellent +   

Our 2008 Alexis Skye Pinot Noir receives a 90 point score from Wine Enthusiast.

Ellman Family Vineyards is hosting a private event on November 5, 2009 in the drawing room of the Vanderbilt Mansion on beautiful Fisher Island. The new release of the 2008 Alexis Skye Pinot and the 2007 Jemma Proprietary Blend will be tasted.

Wine Blogger, Jo Diaz, recently tasted our 2007 Pinot and proclaimed it "b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l." An advocate for the often under reviewed Sonoma Coast AVA, Diaz further quipped, "When the Ellman bottle of Pinot was opened, I breathed a sigh of delight… and this wine just delivered on all counts."
