The Ellman Family Vision

ELLMAN is a family legacy project. We aspire to see future generations continue to steward this remarkable property in Napa Valley. Creating our own space in history within this iconic region is our calling, and sharing these wines with you is our passion. When we made the decision to explore winemaking in 2007, we set out to learn all we could about the process of crafting premier wines and viticulture. Our goal was to create and share fine wines that honor our family name. Today, our wines come from our Estate Vineyard. Our home.

WINEMAKING & VITICULTURE

As winemaker for ELLMAN, Andy Erickson shares our value of family and friendship. His body of work is revered and stands alone in the Napa Valley and across the globe. With his collaborative team by his side including Patrick Nyeholt and Ansel Risch, Andy's rich understanding of the land and his thoughtful approach in the cellar, gives the ELLMAN wines and estate the opportunity to grow into the multi-generational family endeavor we dreamed of.

Sauvignon Blanc

Arguably one of the most intriguing styles of Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc - fresh, textured, rich yet crisp. The vibrancy of our Caryn Renae Sauvignon Blanc will leave you instantly craving another taste.

Brothers Blend

Year after year, the Brothers Blend Proprietary Red is our opportunity to express the most creative freedom. A true blank canvas every vintage. As the rest of our portfolio is varietal specific and estate sourced, this wine changes based on the fruit and vineyards from which it is blended.

Jemma

Our Jemma Cabernet Sauvignon has a special place in our line up as it is our flagship wine. Sourced from the heart of our 30+ year old ELLMAN Estate Vineyard, it undeniably represents the quality of this famed region. As a true pure varietal expression, it is a quintessential Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.

Accolades & Press

2017 & 2018 NAPA IN DEPTH

“The Ellman's work with an all-star team headed by Vineyard Manager Mike Wolf and Winemaker Andy Erickson. The Red Blend & Cabernet Sauvignon Jemma are made mostly from the Estate vineyard, with some outside fruit, while the Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is made from the family's vineyard in Soda Canyon. The wines are bold and lush, as they often are in this part of the Napa Valley. Ellman is going to be a fascinating winery to follow in the coming years.”

-Antonio Galloni

ELLMAN

“The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon The Estate is straight-up awesome and will stand up to anything in the vintage. Pure cr me de cassis, crushed stone, liquid violets, and classy oak all emerge from this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, which is full-bodied, concentrated, and flawlessly balanced. There are a scant six barrels produced, but if you see a bottle, buy it. It will probably take a decade to hit maturity, but it will evolve for well over two decades.”

WINEMAKING

“One of my favorite aspects of grape growing and winemaking is how the vines and wines mark time, year to year, season to season. I recently opened a bottle of the 2017 Jemma, and it was immediate gratification. I think it is the most forward and accessible straight out of the bottle.”
